Floor Framing Complete!

Ahhhh, floor frame complete! Next, insulation and sheathing. It's Friday my friends, woohoo!

Just a few things to finish up tonight and tomorrow morning. Then a little R and R before I move on to the walls. What a beautiful Friday night! Enjoy!!

Additional Thoughts

With the floor framing complete, installing the fiberglass batt insulation and the sheathing to cover it was quick work. From there, my main concern was keeping that floor dry until I had the cottage dried in from the weather. I didn't want that OSB to soak up a bunch of water and have it seep through and ruin the fiberglass insulation underneath. Luckily, I had a bunch of that black plastic I used as a vapor barrier under the floor to use as a protective cover while I built the rest of the structure. It was annoying trying to keep everything protected. Each day I had to remove the bricks, buckets and other heavy things I used to keep it down and roll up the plastic so I could work. And every night, I had to lay the plastic out again and weigh it down. But the extra effort was well worth it, and the floor remained dry.
